Fried Apple Rings


Ingredients: 3 granny smith apples
1 cup flour
Pinch Of baking powder
1/4t. cinnamon
1/4t. salt
2T. sugar
1 cup buttermilk or regular milk
1 egg
1/2 cup sugar & 1 Table spoon cinnamon powder ( for dusting )

Instructions: Heat up vegetable oil in a deep fryer to high Heat (about 375)
Combine all the batter dry ingredients in a medium bowl. Make a well in the dry ingredients. Add the buttermilk and egg. With a fork, whisk the milk and egg and then incorporate all into the dry ingredients.
If batter seems too think, you can add a little bit of regular milk. Now Slice the apples into 1/4 inch rings. Remove the middle with a small cookie cuter or knife.
Dip the apple slices into prepared batter and place into hot oil. Fry on both sides for a few minutes until golden brown . Remove from oil and allow to drain on a paper towel Dust with sugar& cinnamon.
